Migrating to AWS
from Microsoft Azure
Customer Challenge
- Infrastructure was divided into multiple cloud service providers, majorly at Microsoft Azure due to lack of service availability for respected use cases.
- Their platform also generates a significant amount of data, which must be managed and analyzed effectively to gain insights into business process and engagement.
- Database latency issues was another problem along with the fear of failure of primary database.
- The system didn’t have the ability to changeover to secondary database automatically.
Proposed Solution & Architecture
- Proposed solution enabled the customer to migrate from existing infrastructure to AWS by using EC2 for compute resources, ALB for load balancing, S3 for hosting static content, CloudWatch for monitoring, Config for audit of AWS resources and ElastiCache for Redis is a fully managed in-memory data store
- Amazon RDS as a fully managed service, gave the confidence to the customer that they don’t have to worry about the underlying infrastructure
Outcomes of Migration
- Enhanced database performance
- Increased reliability and scalability
- High availability.
- Reduced operational overhead
